Dear All,
First of all, I would like to thank Edward and Shauna for their great commitment and spending so much of their time working for the trust, hosting and tour guiding us in NY. We have taken many adventures together in two very different worlds, and I am very happy to have such a great New York family. Also I want to say huge thank you to everyone who sponsored us for this event! Know that your donation is appreciated by many, many people, and however small, contributes towards something very real.
This is my third time in New York, but I can say that this trip was the best..... I will not ever be able to compare NY with where I’m coming from, or probably any other place that I may travel. I cannot stop thinking about the tallest buildings I have ever seen in New York. Again this being the longest stay in NY for me, on this trip I have seen so many things that I had never imagined I would ever have a chance to see like the incredible hanging bridges like the Brooklyn Bridge where we took photos at sunset. Also, we visited the planetarium, where we saw the universe inside a building that looked like the real sky, and the very wild Blue Man Group, where some of the show was so shocking, it will be impossible to narrate at homethe parade in the street during Halloween night is another shocking event I have experienced, kind of like the cousin of the Blue Man Group. Seeing thousands of people of all ages dressing crazy was hard to believe and understand. Finally, I cannot begin to explain the great amazing man David Blaine for his magic that leaves my mouth wide open for all of the crazy tricks he does to me!!!
It was very difficult for me to accept that I could not run the marathon because of a stretched fracture injury that I got 10 days before the race. But, the day before the marathon we held a traditional maasai ceremony and I know that all of the MWCT runners ran with a piece of my spirit and energy in them, and I am very proud to watch all of them take on this challenge for MWCT and make it to the finish line.
On the morning of the marathon, I could not even speak for an hour just trying to absorb the numbers of people in one place.compared with 7,000 people spread amongst 280,000 acres of land at home?????!!! But it was exciting and crazy, and I’m counting the days until I can run the New York marathon and visit you all again next year.
Thank you to everyone who sponsored us. Thank you New York.
