The thing that is so fulfilling about running the marathon for me is the sense of coming together around a common cause. As 40,000 pairs of lungs fall into the same breathing pattern and 80,000 feet pound the pavement in rhythm, you really do get the sense of belonging to a beautiful, strong herd of animals in motion. Combine the energy of the runners and spectators, and you create something very powerful and positive. Running this year with my team of fellow warriors intensified this feeling even more. Long distance running can be a solitary pursuit, but this time for me, I was running the race with and for my team, and the larger cause it represented. I want to thank everyone, especially Edward, Samson, Sunte, Parashi, and Luca, for including me in this unforgettable experience.
Thank you also to everyone who supported the MWCT cause with your generous donations. Let’s plan a trip to Kenya, and pack our running shoes!
love ala
