This was my second time running the New York marathon and I would like to say I found it so much easier and almost halved my time but the reality was somewhat different!
The atmosphere on the day around the whole route was incredible and there were so many people supporting the runners and it truly helped at some points to have the crowds cheering especially when the mental and physical punishment got tough.
I completed the route in a time of 4 hours 53 minutes which I was really pleased with as my training had been hampered with a bout of flu just a few weeks previously.
My body took a long time to recover with the bending of legs to go downstairs being a particularly difficult movement.
I think the whole team put in a tremendous effort and I was more than delighted to be supporting the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust and their truly amazing work.
