Joss, born in Belfast, spent most of his formative years in Ayrshire, Scotland until age 18 when he started his career in banking with SG Warburg Group in London in 1987. Since then he has built a career in finance working for companies such as Mercury Asset Management plc, Credit Suisse Private Banking, Deutsche Bank Private Banking and HSBC Investment Management. He joined HSBC Private Bank in 2004 and in 2007 was appointed to the post of Director, Scotland for HSBC Private Bank, allowing him and his family to return to Scotland.
Joss is married to Amanda and they have 3 Children, 2 dogs, 1 cat, 1 goldfish and 3 chickens. He enjoys all outdoor activities such as cricket, golf, tennis and anything to do with the countryside!
Having recently reached a key age (40), Joss was looking for some form of physical challenge in 2009 and having never considered running a marathon, largely on the basis that he had not been fit for some 20 years (!) decided to take up the challenge on behalf of the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust. He hopes that the training ground of East Lothian will give him sufficient training to get over the bridges of NYC!
